Abstract

A brief overview of how climate is changing in the Great Lakes region, the types of impacts that are already being experienced, and projections for the future will be presented. Following the short presentation will be an opportunity to engage GLISA's climatologists with your specific climate questions or interests.

Description

This session will open with a short (15 minute) presentation on climate trends, future projections, and impacts for the Great Lakes region. This presentation is appropriate for attendees new to climate adaptation in the region, or for those looking for a refresher on what's new. Following the presentation will be an opportunity (45 minutes) for audience members to engage with a panel of climatologists to go into further detail or raise new questions about anything climate related in the region. The climatologists are part of the GLISA team and have in-depth experience working with and customizing climate data for practitioner applications. The panel will be happy to share not only their climate knowledge, but also their experiences integrating that knowledge into decision making contexts. Come ready with questions!
